CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A transfer of about 200 inmates from the Mecklenburg County Jail to Jail North, originally scheduled for Sept. 1, will not happen as planned.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden must first present his plan to Mecklenburg County Commissioners because of a state law.
Sheriff cites funding requirement
McFadden said the transfer will not happen without funding. Mecklenburg County Commission Chair Mark Jerrell said the county will see what it can do.
