Swanky Brazilian steakhouse chain debuts in uptown Charlotte

Fogo de Chão, the swanky Brazilian steakhouse known for its Churrasco-fired meats, has opened its first North Carolina restaurant in uptown Charlotte.

The eatery celebrated its grand opening on Monday, Aug. 31, at 200 S. Tryon S., last home to McCormick and Schmick’s, Charlotte Business Journal first reported.

Built around the churrasco experience, signature cuts of protein are cooked over an open flame and carved tableside by Gaucho chefs. And there’s something for everyone: pick from the house-specialty Pichana, the butter-bathed lobster tail or the double bone-in pork chop, among other options…
