Darnell Simms remains hospitalized after police say he exchanged gunfire with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers Tuesday.
Once he is released from the hospital, Simms will be taken to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center to face multiple charges, including four counts of attempted murder.
