North Carolina passengers who purchase Amtrak tickets between Raleigh and Charlotte can now ride local buses and light-rail systems at no cost. The Ride & Rail pass started operating for travelers on the Carolinian and Piedmont trains, both of which receive funding from the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Triangle, Triad, and Charlotte areas all accept the pass. When passengers purchase tickets at www.ncbytrain.org/deals/rail-ride-pass, they receive a code. They can then use this code through participating transit agencies’ mobile apps.
