East Charlotte barbershop owner calls for peace after stray bullet shatters storefront

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Eddie Catlin’s barbershop, Distinguished Gentleman, sits at the intersection where gunfire erupted Thursday in east Charlotte, leaving two people injured and his shop damaged.

It was the first time an incident like this occurred in the six years he has owned the business, Catlin said.

“We heard some shots go off in the intersection and the barbershop was caught in the crossfire. A bullet ricocheted and hit the window,” Catlin said. “This is a great neighborhood. It’s sad that we have people who do things that could cause harm to others.”
