Heavy rain expected in Carolinas through weekend: First Alert forecast here

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – As Hurricane Isaias moves farther north into Florida and Alabama, gusty winds and heavy downpours will spread across the Carolinas this weekend.

Overnight, expect increasing clouds with showers beginning before sunrise.

On Saturday, as the storm moves farther north, widespread rainfall can be expected in Charlotte and surrounding areas along with gusty winds up to 40 mph.

In the mountains winds could gust up to 50 mph; a wind advisory is in effect for the mountains through Sunday morning.
