Charlotte Douglas International Airport has added several new flight destinations over the past year as other local routes experienced a carrier shakeup.
One of CLT’s noteworthy new flights actually launches next year. American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ: AAL) will start seasonal service on May 27 between Charlotte and Barcelona. The new flight to Spain marks American’s ninth international route at the Charlotte airport. It also flies to Madrid from CLT.
That addition comes after Etihad Airways debuted service to Abu Dhabi from Charlotte in March, becoming CLT’s first carrier to fly nonstop to the Middle East…
