A 20-year-old Charlotte man is facing 112 criminal charges after investigators say he spent two weeks in September breaking into dozens of parked cars, stealing guns, and ultimately holding a man at gunpoint during a robbery at an apartment complex. Ja’Kari Fleming is being held without bond at the Mecklenburg County Jail as prosecutors work through a case that spans 57 separate vehicle break-ins.
According to WCNC Charlotte, the alleged break-ins occurred between September 1 and September 15, according to court records, and Fleming faces 57 counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle alongside 11 counts of larceny of a firearm.
