Carson Philbin died earlier this month after jumping into ‘rough ocean waters’ in Hawaii and being swept out to sea
North Carolina YouTuber Carson Philbin shared an eerie message on Instagram the month before his fatal cliff-dive.
“I had to carry a 40lb gear bag 34 miles up a mountain but the cameraman never dies,” the 24-year-old videographer — who often documented his travels, stunts and more — wrote in a post recapping one of his adventures. “Go watch my friends and I travel to the most isolated hotels on planet earth!!! (This is my favorite video yet).”
Philbin, a Charlotte resident, died after cliff-diving into “rough ocean waters” in Hawaii earlier this month, the Hawaii Police Department confirmed in a news release .
Officers responded to the South Point area on the Big Island around 11:20 a.m. local time on Jan. 13 after receiving information that multiple swimmers were in distress. According to police, one female and three males jumped into the ocean at the “hoist” area and experienced difficulties due to rough waters.
