A vigil was held Friday night at Concord Middle School for Kendall Bost, a Concord teacher and coach, who was killed Jan. 20 in a crash.
Concord middle school teacher, coach dies in weekend crash
Bost was well-known in the Concord community.
Not only was he a teacher and football coach, but he also played football and graduated from Concord High School.
That’s why people who knew Bost say his loss is prominent.
Concord police say Bost died after he crashed a car into a tree on Harris Street.
The Concord Middle School’s gym is plastered in black and yellow.
On Friday night, it turned into a sea of red and black, which were Bost’s favorite colors.
“He liked the shoes Air Jordans, and they were always red,” said Demetrey Benton, a friend. “It really showed tonight how many people came out to support Kendall and the family.”
Benton was one of more than 200 people at the vigil.
Last weekend’s news was devasting for many in the gym.
“As soon as I heard that Mr. Bost died, my heart felt heavy,” said Maddison McDaniels, a student. “I didn’t want to believe it.”
