Over 190 illegal immigrants were arrested in Georgia and in the Carolinas, during an ICE operation targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and immigration fugitives, according to reports.
Reports also allege that of the 190 unlawfully present aliens arrested by ERO Atlanta, 127 had previous criminal convictions in addition to an illegal immigration status. 29 were previously removed from the United States and had illegally re-entered.
17 were fugitives who had outstanding final orders of removal issued by a federal immigration judge.
Out of the illegal immigrants apprehended, 87 were arrested in Georgia, 84 in North Carolina and 19 in South Carolina.
The arrests include a Mexican national arrested in Georgia who is wanted in his home country on charges of homicide and attempted homicide. Another was arrested in the Charlotte, N.C., area, previously convicted on three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. The immigrant was deported and then illegally re-entered the United States.
