ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man has been arrested after a multi-county chase early Wednesday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP).
Authorities say that 27-year-old Christian Mathaudu, of Maryland, was clocked driving 91 miles per hour on a county road in Salisbury around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31.

According to officials, Mathaudu then led law enforcement on a chase that ended on Interstate 85 near Sam Wilson Road in the western part of Mecklenburg County and outside of Charlotte city limits. No one was hurt.
The truck Mathaudu drove was stolen; however, it is unclear where the truck was taken from, officials say. Mathaudu is being held in the Rowan County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond and is charged with the following:
- Possession of Stolen Vehicle
- Injury to Personal Property
- Felony Flee to Elude
Authorities say Mathaudu is also facing other charges not listed. He is expected in court on Friday, February 2.
