North Carolina jewelry store robbed; owner kidnapped, shot, police say

GASTONIA, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Detectives are investigating an incident at the jewelry store Wednesday night, according to the Gastonia Police Department.

Authorities say a robbery happened at 3302 S. New Hope Road.

Later that night, Belmont Police say the robbery is connected to an incident 1073 Amberley Crossing Drive around 8:21 p.m.

Belmont officers arrived on the scene and learned that a victim had been shot and robbed by four men wearing ski masks at the victim’s jewelry store.

The victim was kidnapped from Gastonia and brought back to his residence on Amberley Crossing Drive.

Emergency personnel took the victim to CaroMont Regional Medical Center for treatment of a single gunshot wound to the back. All evidence at this time leads investigators to believe that the suspects left the area.

Gastonia Police have not said whether anyone has been arrested.
