WILLOW SPRING, N.C. (WNCN) — A unicyclist died after being hit by a car along a road in southern Wake County Saturday night, officials said.
The incident was reported just after 10:45 p.m. along Old Stage Road near Bud Lipscomb Road, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a unicycle was traveling north on Old Stage Road near Bud Lipscomb Road. It did not have any headlights. A Honda HR-V was also traveling north, and hit the unicyclist.
The unicyclist, Devon Lee, 30, of Charlotte, was pronounced deceased.

The location of the incident is about three miles east of Fuquay-Varina and just over a mile south of N.C. 42.
Late Saturday night, Old Stage Road was closed at Bud Lipscomb Road, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The intersection is near Willow Spring Fire Station.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the road reopened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
