Lowes Foods shoplifters lead police on 90 mph chase from Harrisburg into Charlotte: Sheriff

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Lowes Foods shoplifters led authorities on a high-speed chase from Harrisburg into Charlotte Friday, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began around 7:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, when deputies received a call regarding a grocery theft from a Lowes Foods in Harrisburg.

Deputies found the suspect vehicle and tried to pull the woman over, but they said she refused to stop, and a chase began from N.C. 49 South into Mecklenburg County, with speeds reaching 90 mph. Deputies said the vehicle tried to make a left turn onto Mark Twain Road but went off the road, striking an embankment. Both the woman and man in the truck were arrested.
