21-year-old woman shot in the head in north Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A 21-year-old woman was shot in the head over the weekend and a search is underway for a suspect, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police confirmed.

Officers responded to calls regarding the shooting at 11:38 p.m. Sunday near 4311 Hubbard Falls Drive in north Charlotte.

Medic said a 21-year-old woman was found inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and was taken to an area medical center with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was unknown to the victim, according to the police report. A handgun was used in the shooting.

There is no mention of a suspect at this time and this remains an active investigation.
