Driver who struck and killed man had revoked license, North Carolina police

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A driver has been charged after a man standing next to his bike was hit and killed by a vehicle in north Charlotte Saturday night, CMPD said.

The deadly accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, in the 5000 block of North Graham Street.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said an initial investigation revealed the pedestrian was standing next to his bicycle in the left lane of southbound traffic when he was struck by a Cadillac SUV being driven by 49-year-old Lamont Mcinnis.

McInnis has been charged with driving with a revoked license and was issued a citation, CMPD said. He showed no signs of impairment and speed is not considered a factor.

CMPD said they are still trying to locate the victim’s family to notify them of his death.
