CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Charlotte bank is warning customers about a data breach that could put their private information in the hands of criminals. It’s estimated nearly 60,000 Bank of America customers could be impacted.
The data breach stems from a security incident from months ago that did not happen at Bank of America, but at a bank partner that provides digital services.
Names, addresses, and social security numbers could be at risk.
Infosys McCamish Systems, or IMS, the company that worked with Bank of America, provides referred compensation plans, commonly known as retirement plans.

In a letter sent to customers, IMS says in early November a third party got access to customer information in these retirement plans. On Nov. 24, 2023, IMS said it notified Bank of America about the leak, noting that the bank systems were not compromised.
