K9 nabs fleeing Union County fugitive after traffic stop: PD

MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A fugitive who attempted to flee a traffic stop was caught by a K9 last week, Monroe Police said.

Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Monroe resident Deangelo Williams, 35, around 5:30 p.m. last Friday near Skywatch Lane in Monroe.

Monroe PD said Williams pulled over and proceeded to flee on foot before being tracked down trying to hide in the woods off Sinclair Drive by K9 Bolo.

Williams was wanted out of South Carolina on motor vehicle breaking and entering charges.
