The Panthers cut Gill (ankle) from injured reserve Thursday with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Gill landed on the Panthers’ IR on Aug. 27 after sustaining an ankle injury in the preseason finale against the Bills. His placement on IR meant he was set to miss the entire 2024 season, but the injury settlement allows Gill to sign with a team once he’s fully recovered from his ankle injury. He mostly operated on special teams across his 15 regular-season appearances with the Buccaneers in 2023, and he finished with a career-high 12 tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble.
