Pilots transporting donations out of Lincoln County airport

IRON STATION, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A community-led effort to get aid to areas of western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene has found a home base in Lincoln County.

Based out of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Regional Airport, dozens of pilots have volunteered to bring essential supplies to smaller communities in the mountainous region which have yet to receive any federal or state assistance.

Donations can be dropped off at 714 Jack Dellinger Road, Iron Station, NC 28080. They can be made daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
