Charlotte man charged in series of car thefts, high-speed chase in 2022 arrested again

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man charged in connection to a series of car thefts and a high-speed chase in Charlotte in 2022 has been arrested again on similar charges.

According to Mecklenburg County Jail records, Tyler Harding was initially booked in July 2022 on charges related to a nearly two-hour-long police chase.

Harding was accused of stealing four vehicles while fleeing from police in a chase that caused two serious crashes in Charlotte. Records show he was in custody until May 2024.

On Friday, Oct. 18, Harding was arrested again on similar charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony flee/elude arrest, resisting a public officer, and breaking or entering.

On Monday in court Harding was assigned a public defender in this most recent case and his bond was increased from $10,000 to $25,000.
