FRISCO – Would Chuba Hubbard come cheap enough to not get in the way of the Dallas Cowboys’ “Blow It Up” plan?
Assorted national media outlets continue to push the idea that the cure to what ails the Cowboys – who at 3-4 enter a critical week as first on Sunday they play at the Atlanta Falcons and then on Tuesday will deal with the NFL trade deadline – is a blockbuster trade for a running back.
Or, heck, any trade. After all, isn’t Dallas saddled by the NFL’s worst run game in terms of total rushing yards, rushing yards per game and rushing yards per carry?
So on the heels of a bogus connection between the Cowboys and Browns running back Nick Chubb comes along another national media outlet that has constructed a trade idea that that would see the Carolina Panthers giving up top rusher Chuba Hubbard.
The outlet writes, “Hubbard is in the midst of a breakout season as one of the few positives in Carolina. With the price tag going up, the Panthers might be willing to part with Hubbard, who could be a sought-after free agent in 2024. Perhaps he can find a long-term home in Dallas if the team can work out a trade with the Panthers.”
