CMPD investigating shots fired in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after hearing gunshots while were responding to a call in north Charlotte.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 2300 block of Lucena Street about an assault with a deadly weapon call. As they were at the scene, they heard shots fired near them, officials said.

No one was hurt and the suspect was not found after searching the nearby tow yard. Police say no CMPD officers fired their weapons during the interaction.
