Man charged in murder of parking enforcement worker at northeast Charlotte apartment complex

A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a parking enforcement worker in northeast Charlotte last month.

According to court documents, Marquell Pettiford was arrested for the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Anthony “A.J” Zellars Jr.

Zellars was killed in the parking lot of Townes Apartments along Arrowhead Road on November 20.

He was working for a parking enforcement company at the time of the shooting.

According to court documents, Pettiford is expected to face a judge on Monday. He has been charged with first-degree murder.
