66 pounds of cocaine seized in Union County; sheriff provides tongue-in-cheek message to would-be recipient

MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — More than 66 pounds of suspected cocaine was seized in Union County recently.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Narcotics detectives, with the assistance of K-9 Xander, seized the cocaine, valued at more than $750,000.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Sheriff Eddie Cathey has a message for the would-be recipient who was expecting these drugs:

“We’ve seized your narcotics so that our community remains protected,” he said. “We invite you to come to our office and file a report for your lost property, and we’ll be happy to provide exceptional customer service including accommodations for you at our Detention Center.”
