One person trapped in overnight Cornelius crash

CORNELIUS, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A person was rescued from a car after a serious accident early Monday morning, according to Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue.

Just after midnight, officials responded to I-77 near Exit 30 for reports of a collision involving a pin-in. Multiple units responded and quickly began extrication. Officials say it took less than 10 minutes to remove the victim.

That person and others were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The severity of their injuries are unknown and what caused the crash has not been released.
