CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — As winter weather approaches the Carolinas, multiple counties in the area have announced delays or school closures for Monday, Jan. 5.
As of Sunday night, Ashe County, Avery County Watauga County and the Caldwell County mountains are under a Winter Storm Warning. Alexander County, Burke County mountains, Greater Burke County and Greater Caldwell County are under Winter Weather Advisory.

- Ashe County Schools
- Caldwell County Schools
- Watauga County Schools (moved to Remote Learning Day)
SCHOOLS DELAYED
- Alexander County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Burke County Schools: 3-hour delay
- Catawba County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Iredell-Statesville Schools: 2-hour delay
