Big Lots bankruptcy: These Virginia and North Carolina stores may stay open

NORFOLK, Va. — The company that purchased Big Lots has identified a list of locations that will likely remain open.

In a bankruptcy court filing Monday, Gordon Brothers Retail Partners provided a list of 200 locations designated to be taken over by Variety Wholesalers.

When the Big Lots deal was announced in December, the Columbus, Ohio-based company and Gordon Brothers Retail Partners said Variety Wholesalers Inc. planned to acquire between 200 and 400 stores and continue to operate them under the Big Lots brand…
