Charlotte man caught on camera allegedly beating dog says it ‘lives a great life’ on Instagram prior to arrest: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Charlotte man caught on camera allegedly beating his dog in Plaza Midwood made comments on social media about the encounter prior to his arrest, police records show.

In the arrest warrant for 20-year-old Connor Howard released Wednesday from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers say that someone using the Instagram account @driftininndiesel found the surveillance video from March 13 posted and commented underneath it.

In the video, which was shared with Queen City News, a man is seen stopping his car and using a flip-flop to beat a dog that was in the back of the vehicle, forcefully and repeatedly, before the dog was pulled out of the car and kicked multiple times.

The comment, according to the warrant, reads:

My life fixin to be judge by 30 second video. My dog live great life. Am saying what did was right no. but do deserve jail time and my kids losing their dad no. Im 20. My dog, BLUE EYE (Bull dog) lives great life. don’t any one of yall people form can of paint but yall wasn’t there to witness. How much more of that video wasn’t posted yall don’t know and probably never will. Ill face what Ill face and lifes goes on. But don’t limit my anger to dog nor woman. But hey all this is, is comment out thousands. So we’ll see…
