Homeowner is told she must pay $31k by HOA after doing yard work at her own home – she was only trying to protect house

A HOMEOWNER has been told to cough up $31,000 by her HOA in a spat over some trees she had removed from her yard.

The resident had the work done because she feared the trees would topple and cause major damage to her home.

The woman, who lives in Mount Holly, North Carolina – around 15 miles from Charlotte – said she didn’t know she needed approval to remove the trees.
