A devastating incident unfolded in Rock Hill where a fire claimed the lives of a father and his daughter. The victims have been identified as 63-year-old Sammylee Roseborough and 9-year-old Simaya Roseborough, whose bodies were discovered after a blaze enveloped their home located on Deas Street. WBTV first reported that the local fire department responded to the scene early Friday, around 7:30 in the morning.
Upon arrival, crews found that the fire had self-extinguished, presumably due to lack of oxygen. In a release reported by WCNC, the Rock Hill Fire Department’s deputy chief, Trey Hovis, stated that while the cause of the fire remains under investigation, foul play is not suspected.
