Charlotte police are currently investigating a homicide on Wallace Road, which left an individual dead from a gunshot wound yesterday. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that officers responded to the scene in the Independence Division after receiving a call about an assault with a deadly weapon shortly after noon.
The victim, who has not been identified, was found by officers arriving on the scene. MEDIC declared them deceased right there, marking the city’s latest violent fatality. Crime scene investigators and detectives swarmed the block of 7100 Wallace Road to gather evidence and dig into the circumstances behind the shooting. As of now, officials have said little about motive or suspects, with the investigation being described as “active and ongoing.”
