Truck owner charged $2,000 by fraudulent tow company after brief stop at 7Eleven

A semi truck owner was charged $2,000 for the removal of a boot after the driver briefly stopped at a 7Eleven in Charlotte earlier this month.

Truck driver Tavari Crawford was driving for Easy and Quick Transit when he made a quick pit stop at a 7Eleven on Statesville Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. By the time Crawford walked back to his truck from the convenience store, a man in a Mitsubishi was already placing a boot on his rig.

“This guy was putting a boot on there saying that you can’t park here, but mind you, I wasn’t there that long,” Crawford said to WBTV . “He’s not in a tow truck. He’s in a regular car. I think it was a Mitsubishi… He said that he was with his “homeboys” driving around in a tow truck.”…
