Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Hosts “Navigating The Way Back Home” Event to Support Reentry in Charlotte

Charlotte’s Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office recently took an empathetic approach toward reintegrating formerly incarcerated individuals back into society. At a breakfast event dubbed “Navigating The Way Back Home,” hosted by the Sheriff’s Office, participants were invited to hear from Peer Support Specialists and those who have been justice-impacted. Through this initiative, the MCSO aims to highlight the importance of community support in the reentry process and the broader struggle to prevent recidivism.

The MCSO’s social media feed was ablaze with snapshots and reflections from the poignant event. Attendees listened as individuals who have navigated the perils, of post-incarceration life, shared their personal journeys.
