North Carolina grandmother wins $1 million after buying scratch-off at convenience store: ‘Really good thing for us’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WGHP) — Stephanie Marquez, of Cary, bought a $30 scratch-off and won a $1 million top prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“I was just kind of numb,” she said. “I kept thinking, ‘That can’t be real.’”
