CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A North Carolina man was arrested this month after being accused of assaulting an Uber driver in uptown.
Mecklenburg County court records show that on the night of May 3, an Uber driver told a security officer that a passenger attempted to strangle him with a seatbelt as he was driving. The driver then pulled over at the CTC bus center on East Trade Street, yelling for help.

That’s when, according to an arrest warrant, 29-year-old Sean Smith, of Greensboro, got out of the vehicle and allegedly began to attack a security officer stationed there, punching him the neck and pushing him.
