7-Year-Old Killed While Crossing Street Alone With 10-Year-Old Brother – Parents Charged

Legend Jenkins was only 7 years old when he was struck by a car and killed while crossing the street in Gastonia, North Carolina. Legend and his 10-year-old brother reportedly attempted to cross West Hudson Boulevard outside the designated crosswalk just before 6 p.m. on May 27, 2025. A 76-year-old woman struck Legend, and first responders transported him to an area hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Now, Legend Jenkin’s parents, Samuele Jenkins and Jessica Ivey, face charges in the boy’s death.
