2025 Charlotte Pride festival and parade: Your guide to a colorful weekend

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte’s celebration of love, diversity, and community is back, and this year’s Pride Festival & Parade promises to be bigger and bolder.

Mark your calendars: the two-day event takes over Uptown from Saturday, August 16 to Sunday, August 17, with Charlotte Pride Week festivities beginning on August 11.

Where is it happening?

The main event centers around First Ward Park and spills into surrounding Uptown streets. The parade will march down Tryon Street.

Road closures

Set-up kicks off Friday, August 15, so expect early road closures on Brevard Street, 8th Street, and 9th Street. Additional closures will be in effect throughout the weekend, especially along the parade route on Tryon Street.

If you’re driving, give yourself extra time, or opt for public transit.

What to expect this year

This annual parade is Charlotte’s largest — with over 200 groups, more than 10,000 marchers, and a crowd expected to top 260,000. Expect food, music, vendors, performances, and activities that highlight the rich diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies…
