Charlotte woman hosting gun violence awareness walk as new data shows financial strain these crimes create

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The efforts to stop gun violence are ongoing. In fact, Mecklenburg County Commissioner Vilma Leake talked about the emotional pain as well as the financial strain gun crimes have on the community.

One organization’s leader hopes her effort can help curb the growing trend.
