Two arrested after protesters clash with police in Charlotte

Two people were arrested after protesters clashed with police in Charlotte, Saturday afternoon. WBTV in Charlotte reports that nearly 6,000 people attended the “No Kings” rally there.

After the larger protest, around 200 people clashed with officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Police used pepper spray to subdue the group after they tried to enter and take over a street that was still open to traffic.

Two people identified as 23 year old Shannon Riley and 20 year old Tirsa Sanchez were arrested for assaulting police. No serious injuries were reported in the incident…
