The Park Church has submitted a plan to build more than 300 residential units on a wooded lot behind its location on Beatties Ford Road.
According to a rezoning petition filed with the city, the development would encompass just over 30 acres and could include up to:
- 130 age-restricted units in an independent-living facility.
- 95 single-family attached units
- 92 single-family detached units
“All residential units will be offered for sale or lease to households earning between 60-120% of the Area Median Income (AMI),” the application stated.
The development would designate 15,000 square feet of “enhanced open space” for landscaping, pedestrian pathways, lighting, and seating to create functional and inviting community spaces.”
If completed, the development would dwarf an earlier Park Church project, completed in 2023, that included 80 affordable senior units on Beatties Ford Road – a public-private partnership that included Laurel Street Residential, the City of Charlotte, Bank of America, LISC Charlotte and The Park’s development arm, The Park Community Development Corp…
