New Atrium Health hospital set to open its doors July 1

CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Atrium Health’s newest hospital is set to open July 1.

Atrium Health Lake Norman, on Statesville Road in Cornelius, is designed to provide world-class care for the residents and visitors of northern Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility was held Thursday.

“The population of the Lake Norman region is growing rapidly, and the demand for high quality care is growing right alongside it,” said Eugene A. Woods, CEO of Advocate Health, of which Atrium Health is a part. “Now, this community will have access to comprehensive care at a new, state-of-the-art hospital closer to home — improving lives and contributing to the vibrant future of Lake Norman.”

The nearly 200,000-square-foot facility is equipped to treat a variety of patients and illnesses. Atrium Health Lake Norman includes a brand-new emergency department open 24/7; a state-of-the-art labor and delivery floor; operating and procedure rooms; laboratory; and on-site pharmacy. The groundbreaking was held in May 2023.
