New details emerge in Charlotte Food Lion shooting: 1 arrested, 2 injured outside store

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been arrested after a shooting outside a Food Lion in north Charlotte left two people hospitalized, one with serious injuries.

The shooting happened on Sunday afternoon, June 22, just before 2:45 p.m., in the parking lot of the Food Lion located at 6430 Sugar Creek Road.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded after receiving several 911 calls reporting gunfire and at least one person shot. When officers arrived, they found broken glass, shell casings, and a damaged vehicle bumper in front of the store, according to court documents.
