A Charlotte man was charged with driving while impaired and cited for other offenses after he kept his bright headlights on passing a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper near Greenville, court documents said.
About 12:49 a.m. June 22, a silver Volkswagen station wagon driving on U.S. 264 near N.C. 33 entered Greenville and passed a highway patrol officer traveling in the opposite direction. The driver did not dim his lights, a citation said.
The trooper stopped the driver, whom court documents identified as Brandon Jerrell Fisher, 31, of 186 Coulwood Drive, Charlotte. Those documents said Fisher had red, glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet. An open container of alcohol was located in the Volkswagen…
