June 2025 Health Inspections: 208 York County Restaurants Inspected, 6 Receive Lower Grades

In June 2025, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture conducted 208 restaurant inspections in York County. The vast majority of establishments received “A” grades, reflecting strong adherence to food safety standards. However, four establishments received a “B” rating and two received a “C” rating due to various health and safety concerns.

C-Rated Establishments:

  • Fiery Crab, Rock Hill (June 10)Follow-up inspection showed continued noncompliance, including food stored on the floor and use of household pest control products. These persistent violations led to the downgrade to a “C” rating.

  • Las Americas Market, Rock Hill (June 19)Scored 73. Major violations included improper cooling of cooked foods, unsafe food storage temperatures, unapproved food sources, and pest control issues. The facility also lacked a certified food protection manager at the time of inspection.

B-Rated Establishments:

  • Wing King Café, Fort Mill (June 9)Earned a score of 83 due to multiple priority violations including improper cold holding temperatures, organic buildup in ice machines, and food past disposition dates. Additionally, issues with equipment cleanliness and facility maintenance were noted.

  • TWF Burgers, Fort Mill (June 18)Received a score of 78. Violations included inadequate handwashing facilities, improper cold holding temperatures, unlabeled chemicals, and observed food contamination risks. Employees were also cited for eating in the kitchen and improper glove use.

  • Subway Sandwiches, Fort Mill (June 11)Scored 93. This follow-up inspection cited a lack of hot water at a handwashing sink, insufficient sanitization during dishwashing, and minor plumbing issues.

  • Fiery Crab, Rock Hill (June 3)Initially received a score of 79. Violations included improper handwashing sink use, lack of date marking on foods, organic buildup in equipment, and pest control issues. A follow-up inspection on June 10 downgraded the facility to a “C” after unresolved priority violations were still observed.

All facilities with “B” and “C” grades are subject to follow-up inspections to verify that violations have been corrected.
