12 hurt after multi-vehicle crash on I-77 in Mecklenburg County, Medic says

DAVIDSON, N.C. (WBTV) – Twelve people were hurt after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 in Mecklenburg County Wednesday afternoon, according to Medic.

The wreck reportedly happened around noon on Wednesday, July 9, along I-77 South at mile marker 30 in Davidson.

Paramedics said 12 people sustained “minor” injuries, prompting responses from multiple ambulances and a mass casualty bus. Eight of the people hurt were rushed to area hospitals, Medic said.

North Carolina Department of Transportation officials reported one lane was closed due to the crash, and all lanes reopened around 1 p.m…
