Uptown Shootings Fuel Fear, Frustration

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced that one person is dead and five more were injured in a shooting at a row of nightclubs in Uptown between East 6th and 7th Streets.

It’s the second night in a row CMPD was called to the area to investigate a shooting. Crime scene crews swarmed the parking lot next door the night before where a spokesperson for MEDIC said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and MEDIC covered every piece of pavement between East 6th and 7th Streets surrounding a row of nightclubs on North College Street. CMPD said one person died and five more ended up at the hospital…
