Late-day storms in forecast as week starts hot in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – This week is getting off to a toasty start in Charlotte with above-average temperatures and a chance for some late-day storms.

Beyond Monday, temperatures will drop back closer to 90 degrees while daily storm chances stick around.

Hot start to week

Temperatures this afternoon will top out in the mid-90s with feels-like temperatures pushing above the 100-degree mark Monday.

Scattered storms will then develop into the evening hours, capable of producing isolated damaging wind gusts and localized flooding.

Looking ahead

Temperatures return a little closer to normal the next few days with the humidity and scattered storm chance continuing on a daily basis from here. Highs will top out in the lower 90s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday…
