The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department recently honored a new class of young minds, having concluded their College Intern Program. This eight-week initiative serves to bridge the gap between textbook knowledge and the palpable day-to-day of law enforcement work. Graduates of the program have spent valuable time shadowing active officers in various patrol divisions and specialty units, soaking up the real-world atmosphere of a career draped in the mantle of public service.
